Choice / Permission / Value

Your data,your terms.

Aster is building adaptive intelligence that understands human state and learns from how people respond.

Learning from real people can help make adaptive systems better. Aster is exploring a participation model where people who voluntarily contribute information retain meaningful control and, where appropriate, share in the value created.

Participation in Aster research, training or data programs is optional and separate from access to Aster’s core experience.

The principles we’re building around

Choice first.
Value shared.

01 / Participation

Use Aster without contributing.

Access to Aster’s core experience will not depend on participating in optional research, training or data programs.

Choose what to share. Where Aster offers optional data programs, different categories of information may require separate choices. Sharing one category will not automatically mean sharing everything.

02 / Permission

Know what it’s for.

When Aster offers an optional data opportunity, we intend to explain what information is requested, what it may be used for, and who may receive or use it.

Revisit your choices. Where technically and legally feasible, people should be able to review and update participation choices over time.

03 / Value

Share in the value.

Aster is exploring models that may compensate people who voluntarily participate in certain data programs. Each program will have separate terms explaining participation, permitted uses and compensation.

With permission, Aster may work with trusted research and product partners. Each program will explain who receives your data, how it is used, and what you receive in return.

These principles describe the direction Aster is developing. Specific research, training, licensing or compensation programs will have separate terms explaining what is collected, how it may be used, who may receive it, how consent works and whether compensation is available.

Website privacy

Privacy.

Your information should be understandable, controllable and treated with care.

This page explains what Aster collects through this website, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.

What you control

Specific choices.
Not blanket permission.

Contribution is not the default.

Access to Aster’s core experience and participation in optional research, training or licensing programs are intended to be separate decisions.

Consent should be specific.

Our goal is to seek permission for defined uses rather than rely on one broad permission for every future use.

A no should remain a no.

Declining an optional data program is not intended to reduce access to Aster’s core experience.

Portability matters.

We believe people should be able to access and take contributed information with them where technically feasible and legally permitted.

How we’re approaching future data programs

Control should
stay with people.

We do not want participation hidden inside product access, or one permission to become permission for every future use.

We do not want a business model based on selling people’s identities, and we believe people should have a meaningful role in the value created from information they choose to contribute.

As these capabilities become available, specific data programs will have their own terms explaining what is collected, how it is protected, how it may be used, how consent can be withdrawn and how compensation works.
